If those are the only two choices, I'd go with the silhouettes version bc they're less obviously white. The problem is that the silhouettes are clearly men and it feels like 51% of the population is not included in the target market. The question I'd have for the art department is what data were they relying on to make the cover art target men specifically? (Are there any women in the art department or is it all dudes?) Maybe dudes won't buy a business book written by a woman unless the cover specifically makes them feel relevant(?) But hey, maybe men who can't get past that should just stay on the hamster wheel? ;) I like Andrew's idea of having a woman surfing the crest!
